Hybrid Black Cab Battery Module — Terms & FAQ
Full terms, warranty, loan battery policy and answers for London taxi drivers — FixAnyHybrid London
Purpose of this Page
This page outlines the terms and conditions you agree to when booking hybrid black cab battery module diagnostics, repairs or replacements with FixAnyHybrid London. It also answers the practical questions drivers ask every day — turnaround, warranty, loan batteries, costs and what happens if something goes wrong.
Important: This is a service-level summary. The repair order presented at booking constitutes the operative agreement for the work to be carried out.
Diagnostics & Assessment Policy
- Diagnostics fee: A standard diagnostic fee applies for mobile call-outs (£75) and workshop diagnostics (£95) unless waived when repair work is authorised within 48 hours.
- What the diagnostic includes: full pack voltage scan, individual module testing, thermal and coolant inspection, and a written fault report with recommended actions and costs.
- If we can fix on-site: minor module reconditioning or balancing performed during the visit is invoiced separately (you will be advised and must approve).
Scope of Repair & Replacement
We perform module-level repairs and full pack replacements. Typical work includes:
- Module testing and reconditioning (cell/module swaps)
- Cell balancing, BMS re-calibration and software re-flash
- Cooling circuit cleaning and pump/thermostat checks
- Full battery pack replacements when modules are beyond economical repair
Note: Replacement packs will be quoted as OEM or reconditioned options — you choose. Parts lead-times may affect turnaround.
Loan Battery Policy (Taxi Driver Support)
We offer loan hybrid battery units for professional taxi drivers where available — so your cab can remain at work during repair. Key terms:
- Eligibility: Loan units prioritised for licensed London black cab drivers (proof of licence and V5 required).
- Deposit: A refundable deposit is required (amount based on model and pack). Deposit refunded on return and inspection of loan unit.
- Duration: Standard loan period up to 14 days. Extensions available subject to agreement and availability.
- Usage: Normal driving use is permitted — loan units are not for commercial hire to third parties and must not be used in taxis operating outside normal taxi licensing rules without prior written agreement.
- Liability: You are responsible for loss, theft or damage while the loan unit is in your possession, unless caused by our negligence. Insurance options are offered at time of loan.
- Maintenance: Do not attempt repairs or tamper with the loan battery. Any unauthorised interference will void the deposit and may incur additional charges.
Warranty & Aftercare
We back our work — but read this carefully so you know what’s covered.
- Repair warranty: Labour & module parts are typically warranted for 6 months. Reconditioned module warranty generally 6–12 months depending on the supplier.
- Replacement pack warranty: OEM replacement packs carry manufacturer warranty; reconditioned pack warranties vary (we will confirm pre-sale).
- Exclusions: Warranty does not cover damage due to accident, water ingress, misuse, unauthorised tampering, commercial hire abuse, or normal wear & tear.
- Claim process: Report faults immediately; we will inspect and diagnose to confirm coverage. If a covered fault is found, we repair or replace as per the warranty terms.
Payment, Parts & Refunds
- Deposit: We may require a deposit for parts and/or loan units. Deposit credited to final invoice.
- Accepted payment: Card, bank transfer, company account (pre-approved), or cash in exceptional cases.
- Parts sourcing: We source OEM and quality reconditioned modules; you will always be given options and costs before purchase.
- Refunds: If you cancel after parts have been ordered, part costs are non-refundable once dispatched from the supplier (we’ll always advise before ordering).
Safety, Legal & Data
- All high-voltage work is carried out by qualified technicians under industry safety procedures. We will isolate HV circuits and provide proof of safe discharge on request.
- We keep records of work and diagnostic logs for warranty & compliance. Diagnostic reports may include vehicle identifiers and fault codes necessary for repair history.
- Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with third parties except for parts suppliers and warranty providers when required.
